Cross check the blood group on blood bag and cross matching report |

Inspect the blood unit for haemolysis/bacterial contamination. |

Do not use expired blood units or units kept at room temperature for many hours. |

Do not heat the blood unit by putting in the boiling water bath/hot air oven or putting the unit on the autoclave.

Do not keep the blood unit in freezer having temperature below 0°C. |

Please do not add any drug in the blood bag. |

Please transfuse the blood immediately after receiving it from the blood bank. |

Do not remove label of blood bag at any time. |

For your safety, write all records of blood transfusion on patient's case paper. |

Please avoid single unit blood transfusion. |

Please use blood when benefit or transfusion is greater than the risk involved. |
