SRKRC has department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology approved Research institute in Gopipura premises. We undertake research project in the field of Transfusion medicine, Hematology and Immunohaematology. Our present research studies are on "Prevalence and molecular generics of Beta thalassemia and sickle cell disease", "Comparison of blood group antibody detection techniques" and ICMR project on "Prenatal diagnosis of hemoglobinopathies". Research centre has molecular biology, hematology, red cell serology, biochemistry and Immunohaematology laboratories. M. Sc. and Ph.D. students carrying the research work for their dissertation for thesis are provided facilities and guidance. We also conduct Seminars for research students and CME programs for clinicians and technicians. Very soon we will start work on HLA antibody detection for transplantation patients. Our future plan is to start Research and Development in hemopoietic stem cells. We will particularly work on umbilical cord blood and peripheral stem cells.
